What is Gastric Bypass?
The small intestine brought from below is connected to the upper small stomach chamber. With the "Gastric Bypass", it is aimed to reduce the absorption of what the person eats and to eat less. Gastric bypass, which is the most common method in the USA, tends to decrease proportionally due to the more preferred method of gastric sleeve surgery. Experience shows that the biggest disadvantage of this method is that it is technically very difficult to switch to a second method in the case of weight gain after gastric bypass. Although the need for a second surgery after gastric bypass is less compared to the sleeve gastrectomy method, transition to the Duodenal Switch, which is the most successful method in terms of both diabetes control and effective and permanent weight loss, is much easier after sleeve gastrectomy.
